Coating Systems for Film and Sugar Coating
Jan/Feb 2010 (1 10)
Lödige provides coating systems with partially or completely perforated drums specifically suitable to the customer requirements: flexible adaption to specific coating processes; GMP design; optimised inlet air supply; user friendly controls with programmable process steps. In addition to further developments, Lödige has improved the inlet air supply of the company’s coaters. The inlet air is now directly introduced from the technical area into the coating drum and ensures — irrespective of drum size, a precise air supply. In this new version the coater sizes can be varied. For example, the company can provide drums with diameter 150 cm, 130 cm and 100 cm (corresponding to working volumes of 350 l, 225 l and 105 l) in a coater of type LHC 170 (working volume of 570 l). Filling levels of between 30-100% of the working capacity of all coating drums can be used without modification of the exhaust air system. The new design of the front discharge, in combination with reverse drum rotation, ensures total discharge of the product without using any additional discharge aids.
