University of Warwick spin-out company that is developing a transdermal drug delivery patch technology, Medherant, has been shortlisted for the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) Emerging Technologies Competition 2017.

Medherant, one of 40 companies chosen, was selected for its TEPI Patch, which is based upon a poly(etherurethane)/silicone pressure sensitive adhesive, which allows drugs to be delivered through the skin.
“We are delighted to have been shortlisted for this prestigious competition,” said Nigel Davis, CEO of Medherant. “Recognition of our technology from the RSC is further evidence of the innovative nature of our TEPI Patch technology and the progress we’ve made towards developing a product that will be easier for patients to use.”
All those shortlisted for the competition will be given the chance to pitch their ideas in front of a live audience at Chemistry Means Business, RSC’s annual flagship event for industry being held in Manchester 13/14 June. At this event, the winner for the Emerging Technologies competition will be selected. Dr Gabit Nurumbetov, a senior scientist at Medherant, will be presenting the TEPI Patch technology.
