A medical imaging facility located at Mount Vernon Hospital in Northwood, the Paul Strickland Scanner Centre, has won the 2018 Pharmaceutical Industry Network Group (PING) Innovation Award.

The imaging facility has already undertaken more than 7,000 whole-body scans to date for the effective management of treatment for patients with metastatic cancers who have developed multidrug resistance.
“Our team is completely dedicated to making sure patients receive the highest quality care and are able to benefit from medical research that could lead to breakthroughs in treating cancer and other serious conditions,” stated Claire Strickland, CEO of Paul Strickland Scanner Centre. “We’re absolutely thrilled to see the team’s hard work recognised in this way.”

The award, which recognises and supports innovation and excellence in the pharmaceutical and life sciences supply chain, has previously been won by Sigma Pharmaceuticals, University of Hertfordshire, Proteus Digital Health and Durbin.
