Not even 12 cm of snowfall could deter the hardy visitors to Pharmapack (well mostly) on day one and it certainly didn’t impact the amount of innovations from the show floor, which is expected to continue. Desiccant solutions and effervescent packaging
Sanner, developer and producer of high-quality plastic packaging and components for pharmaceutical, medical and healthcare products, is showcasing its portfolio for desiccant solutions and effervescent packaging at this year’s event.

Drug delivery systems provider, Aptar Pharma, will be presenting its portfolio of drug delivery solutions along with its latest technology innovation during this year’s show.
A dedicated connectivity hub will centre on the field of connected healthcare solutions, a significant megatrend, which can greatly improve patient behaviour and adherence.

Solution to unstable drug formulations
At this year’s event in Paris, Bormioli Pharma, glass and plastic packaging manufacturers for the pharmaceutical sector, is making a bold commitment to guarantee safety with simple and precise reconstitution of oral drug products.
According to the company, its AccuRec dual-chamber system for oral reconstitutable medicines, is a step-change towards eliminating the adverse side effects of excipients in oral drugs. Its dual chamber system design maximises drug stability by eliminating the need to include excipients with the active ingredient.

New platform for anti-counterfeiting
A new technology from Romaco enabling the implementation of anti-counterfeiting devices for cartons will be on show at this year’s Pharmapack.

The Promatic PTT track & trace machine, developed by the company as a new platform for anti-counterfeiting systems for carton identification, can be flexibly configured and integrated into new or existing pharmaceutical secondary packaging lines.
All operations performed by the platform are linked to an ejection system, which ensures that any faulty packs are automatically removed. The reject bins can be locked securely and discharged safely without stopping the machine. As an option, rejects can be sorted into two different bins, depending on the type of error that occurred on the machine.

Plastic primary pharma packaging
Spang & Brands will be highlighting two innovative pharmaceutical devices during this year’s Pharmapack — a single-use nasal dosing device and a sterile connector — in addition to showcasing two-part sealing systems made of TPE and various caps for pharma primary packaging.

The single-use nasal dosing device is designed to be patient friendly and ensures precise agitating of the medication and obtains the expected fast, and strong effect. The patented dosing system has a simple structure consisting of four plastic parts and can be used as platform for custom developments.
Sterile connectors on show will demonstrate how solutions (liquid medications, pharmaceuticals or stored blood) can be transported safely through the sterile connector from bags, bottles or ampoules to another container and finally transfused into the patient with no risk of contamination.
“Pharmaceutical primary packaging is becoming increasingly demanding in terms of ease of use and optimal safety for the patient. At PHARMAPACK, we are going to demonstrate that we have mastered the technology necessary to that purpose,” affirms the company’s CEO.
