Contract development and manufacturing organisation (CDMO) Recipharm has launched an integrated end-to-end inhalation offering for its customers.

Recipharm Inhalation Solutions offers pharmaceutical companies an outsourcing service for inhalation products such as metered dose inhalers (MDIs), dry powder inhalers (DPIs) and nasal sprays.
The service follows Recipharm’s acquisition of Sanofi’s inhalation manufacturing business last year. It will include dedicated analytical services for inhalation products, including comprehensive extractable and leachable expertise. More so, a dedicated pilot facility will also assist with the seamless transfer of projects from small to large scale production.
Commenting on the announcement, Shabbir Mostafa, global key account director – Inhalations at Recipharm said: “Treatments for respiratory conditions are in high demand, making inhalation products a key growth area for our business. In addition to respiratory diseases, they are now being explored as alternative delivery routes to improve bioavailability and lower the risk of adverse effects, in treating for instance central nervous system conditions. This is making inhalation an interesting area for drug developers”.
