International team at PSL receive official recognition for hard work and innovation.
PSL Awards
Leading UK pharmaceutical engineering company, Powder Systems (PSL), welcomed officials from the Merseyside Lieutenancy, to accept two awards from the Queen’s Awards for Enterprise.
The company greeted dignitaries including Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant, Dame Lorna Muirhead DBE and The High Sheriff of Merseyside, James Davies OBE.
PSL received two honors, being awarded the Queen’s Award for Innovation and also International Trade. PSL was one of the six small and medium sized companies to achieve the double recognition.
“The Award is a prestigious honour for a company to receive and demonstrates what an enterprising nation we are. The fact that small businesses can share these honours with large household names illustrates that they are the backbone of our economy and deserve to be recognised as such.” said Her Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant, Dame Lorna Muirhead DBE.
Guests from the Liverpool City Council, Mayors Office and Department for International Trade were joined by member of parliament, Maria Eagle who in 2015, chose PSL as Export ‘Champion’ of its constituency for the Export By Britain campaign.
They arrived at PSL’s UK headquarters in Speke, Liverpool where they were greeted by MD Amanda Gowans, directors and key managers. They were given a tour of the factory and proceedings led to a presentation of the two Rose Bowls and a reading of the official Scroll of Association. PSL will have the honour of representing British manufacturing with the Royal mark for 5 years, until April 2021.
The Ceremony follows a Royal Reception for the announcement of the awards at Buckingham Palace in July. PSL employees travelled to London and attended a ceremony held at the Palace where they were honoured by a meeting with H.M. The Queen.
