Contract packaging and clinical supply services company, Sharp — a part of UDG Healthcare, has revealed it has completed the first phase in the development of its new $23 million clinical services facility in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, USA.

Sharp acquired the facility last year and has just completed its relocation project, costing $2.5 million, involving transference of the company’s clinical storage and distribution services from its Phoenixville site.
The second phase of the project will see the co-location of Sharp’s fully integrated clinical services offering at the site. During this phase, which is set to occur late this year, the company’s packaging, manufacturing and analytical services will move to the Bethlehem facility once a $6.4 million refit has been completed.
“The Bethlehem facility is a strategically important investment for Sharp. It will allow us to offer greater capacity, scalability and automation in response to growing demand for our services, as well as co-locating our clinical services at one facility,” said Frank Lis, president of Sharp Clinical Services. “This facility allows us to simultaneously support multiple large-scale phase III studies through to commercial launch.”
