A new software suite for clinical trials has been launched to digitally connect sponsors, sites, medical devices and patients.

The new software suite aims to bring all stakeholders in clinical trials into a connected digital health system
Exco InTouch is a company which develops patient engagement and data capture products for clinical research and healthcare providers.
Its new Gather product suite is designed to simplify and connect the traditionally independent technology systems.
The suite will be on display at the DIA 2016 Annual Meeting, a gathering of healthcare stakeholders in Philadelphia taking place later this month.
As part of the firm’s plan to use technology to open up communication amongst patients, doctors and PAGs (patient advocacy groups), visitors to its stand will be able to see a demonstration of the new Target My Hives digital health network.
The group claims that this is the first digital health community for everyone impacted by chronic urticarial, and is reportedly already helping to create a support network for patients.
The community has so far attracted over 2,000 patient registrations from 61 different countries.
Exco InTouch will be showcasing several other eCOA (electronic clinical outcomes assessments) and ePRO (electronic patient reported outcomes) products available through the Gather suite, including the integration of medical devices and the incorporation of validated instruments into both patient diaries and site-based questionnaires.

The company will be giving a talk called ‘Enhancing patient centered research: combining technology with other direct-to-patient contact strategies’ on Tuesday 28th June at the DIA meeting.
The presentation will aim to offer an in-depth understanding of the challenges of implementing a truly patient-centered approach to clinical research and how to combine strategies using the rising capability of technology.
