Advantest's TAS7500 terahertz spectroscopy and imaging systems are configurable and compact and use proprietary terahertz wave technology to acquire characteristic spectra based on crystalline structure and 3D images, yielding tablet coating thickness and uniformity and the non-destructive detection of cracks and voids in the tablet core.
The terahertz spectra are used to measure solid phase transitions and crystalline/amorphous composition while the imaging experiments provide information on the strength properties of coatings and multilayer interfaces in tablets. The systems offer lower cost and higher efficiency in development, laboratory research and product manufacturing.
